Interior Painting

"My husband and I are so happy with the kitchen Ross painted. This old house was dark and dreary before the newly painted cabinets and even inside the lazy susans and cabinets were painted. It looks like a new kitchen! Much brighter and cleaner.  We really appreciate your expertise and commitment to our home from start to finish.  Thank you Ace!" — Lynn W.

Our Process

Preparation

When we start an interior paint job, we first clean any dirty walls to ensure the paint adheres and delivers a beautiful, long-lasting finish.

Light switch and outlet covers are removed until they are ready to be put back on after painting is completed. Baseboards, crown moldings, doors and trim, cabinets, floors, lighting, ceiling fan, etc. needing added protection are covered using the proper tape, masking and drop clothes.

Once we've protected everything that needs to stay clean, the painting can begin.

Painting

If included in the job proposal, we typically paint ceilings first. After ceiling paint dries, we cut (paint) a straight line around the room where the wall meets the ceiling.

Corners and around door and window trim are also given a coat of paint. The roller is used to paint the remaining area of the wall. Paint is applied in accordance with manufacturers instruction. As a wall is painted, the edge of the paint needs to stay wet and rolled on properly to maintain a beautiful, uniform coat of paint.

When an area is completed, we remove our tools and supplies, remove masking, and take the tarps out of the job site. As a final step, light switch and electrical outlet covers are put back.

Customer Satisfaction

We complete a walk-through with each customer to ensure complete satisfaction with our work. At the end of each job, we ask customers to fill out an optional short review of the completed project to ensure we can continue to provide a top notch service.

FAQs

How do I choose the right paint?

Consider the room's purpose, lighting, and the paint's sheen. Matte or eggshell finishes are popular for living rooms and bedrooms, while satin or semi-gloss is recommended for kitchens and bathrooms.

What preparation is needed before painting?

Proper preparation is crucial for a successful paint job. This includes cleaning surfaces, filling holes, sanding, and priming as needed. Clients should clear small items and breakables from the area, while larger items can be moved by the painting crew upon request.

What is low or zero VOC paint?

VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are toxic chemicals released from paint as it dries. Many companies now offer low or zero VOC options to protect the environment and improve indoor air quality.

Who’s paint and what type do you use?

We use premium quality products from all the major suppliers. However, the brand of paint we use can be influenced by other factors including customer preference or the nature of the project.

What do I have to do in order to get ready for the painters?

For interior projects we ask our customers to move small items, décor and pictures. We don’t want to damage anything valuable or sentimental. We come expecting to move furniture, window treatments and switch plates. For exterior projects, pruning back landscaping to provide us access to work is requested. Also, please let us know if any of your pets like to attempt an escape.
